Forest School

Forest School Course (6 sessions)

For pre-school, younger home educated and primary aged children (2-11 years).

Come and join us on a Tuesday or Thursday in the Knockhatch Woodland for lots of Forest School fun!

Tuesday sessions, one adult per child, will need to attend.

Thursday sessions, children only, an adult will need to drop the child/children off and then collect.

We have created a beautiful Forest School area with a fire and shelter, mud kitchen and lots of wonderful woodland activities to keep you and your little ones busy. There will be opportunities to take part in activities such as den building, woodland crafts, using tools such as saws and hammers, obstacle courses, cooking on the fire, going on woodland walks, playing games, sharing stories around the fire and having lots of woodland fun!

Our Forest School sessions take place whatever the weather, providing it is safe to do so. We have a shelter and fire to keep you warm and dry, but we also love playing in the rain, splashing in puddles and getting changed into warm, dry clothes afterwards.

Expect to get wet and muddy, but also expect to have a lot of fun, make new friends, laugh and learn new things in the great outdoors.

PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION ON THIS PAGE BEFORE BOOKING.

Numbers are limited.

We can accept 16 children per session, except for the Thursday morning session when we will only be accepting 10 children. You need to book in online. Booking is on a first come, first served basis.

If booking a Tuesday session where an adult can attend, places are limited to one adult per booked in child. The adult must stay and supervise their child/ren at all times.

When booking a Thursday drop-off session, an adult will need to drop-off, leave and then pick-up.

CLOTHING

You need to wear appropriate clothing for the woods.

We suggest wellies or sturdy trainers, waterproofs, clothes you do not mind getting wet and dirty.

WHAT TO BRING

Full change of clothes - you may want to leave this in the car for after the session.

Your own drinks and snacks for you and your child/children if desired.

Plate, bowl, cup and spoon for Forest School, snacks provided by us on most sessions!

WHERE TO PARK AND MEET

You need to come to Knockhatch Adventure Park and park in the overflow car park (go past the main carpark and head towards the Ski and Snowboard School. The overflow carpark is on the left). Please park in the hard standing area. Do not park on the grass, you will get stuck.

You will be met in the overflow carpark by the Forest School Leader.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the session start time. All sessions will start promptly.

PHOTO CONSENT

If we decide to take occasional pictures for advertising purposes we will ask you to fill in a photo consent form at the start of the session – it is completely optional so please do whatever is right for you.

TOILET FACILITIES

We have been given access to East Sussex School of Circus Arts toilets. The toilets are situated near the car park. There will be no other toilets available if we go on short walks away from the main base.

ACCESS

Due to the nature of the wood unfortunately the ground is unsuitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

The Forest School Sessions do not give you access into Knockhatch Adventure Park. If you would like to visit the Park a separate ticket will need to be purchased.
