The Zoo Team is getting ready to welcome some brilliant new animals after passing all the strict checks to earn official approval from the British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions (BALAI).
The team has spent months working hard on the enclosures, polishing health routines, and hitting every high standard needed for the badge. BALAI checks mean families can trust that animal welfare, safety, and hygiene are looked after properly.
Zoo Manager Ben Anderson said, "We’re really excited to share that we are now accredited. It’s been a long time coming, and it means we can bring in more species from Europe, join more breeding programmes, and welcome rare creatures you don't normally spot in a zoo. It's a huge step forward for us."
