Did you bump into our local emergency services during their recent visits on Tuesday 11th August and Tuesday 25th August? Having Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service at the park is a brilliant way for your little one to learn some vital safety messages in a totally relaxed and fun setting. If your child has never spoken to a police officer before, Knockhatch is a great place to break the ice. PC Emily Dudley and the Wealden Neighbourhood Policing team have had a very successful year engaging with hundreds of families. Kids have had a great time taking fingerprints, trying on the big uniforms, and even getting to sit in the back of a police van!
It really helps break down barriers and shows them that our local police are safe, friendly, and completely approachable.
Alongside the police, the East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service has been busy chatting with you all about keeping safe at home, on the roads, and near the water. They’ve been giving out practical advice on smoke alarms and their Firewise programme.As one parent pointed out during a recent visit, it is lovely to see the emergency services working together to make that very first interaction for our kids such a positive one.Both teams want to say a massive thank you to Knockhatch for the wonderful hospitality and for supporting such valuable community work.
